Why did God create heaven and hell when He could only kept heaven for us?
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. If that’s true, then when did He create hell? Heaven is the dwelling place of God. Our everlastng Father is surrounded by millions and millions of angels all around and they worship Him all the time. If God’s dwelling place is heaven, then why exactly the hell is created for? Every human have this fear that one day they will either go to heaven or to hell based on their deeds and believes irrespective of their religion. But as a christian, we all should have a beautiful perspective of how heaven and hell is created and to whom it was created for.
Naturally, we have three places that we are aware of. Heaven is the dwelling place for God and the heavenly hosts and saints and angels. Hell is created for demons and his spirits. And finally the earth is created for humans who are created in the image of God. Apart from these places, we have heavenly realms and other places which is far beyond our human understanding. So we all have this thought that why did God created hell. Is God that cruel? Even though it was created for Lucifer and its angels, why should He do it anyway? He is full of grace and love. Then He could’ve given him another chance or even a lesser punishment.
we can think whatever we want as per our human knowledge. But God is sovereign over al of us. If He created hell, then there must be a credible reason. We all know how God lifted Lucifer’s position in heaven when he was an worship leader. He stood before the Lord all the time. He was forever in his presence and experienced the goodness of the Lord ceaselessly. No other angels nor any elders had this chance. But Lucifer had. God trusted him and He accepted His worship and his praise were acceptable before Him.
Then what changed?
Lucifer changed. God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. When Lucifer slowly developed the thoughts of pride and arrogance within himself, God noticed. God saw that he was about to turn against Him. Praises in His presence and pride in his absence. There is nothing too hidden for the Lord.
God can forgive the humble but when He sees if anyone who turn against Him after all that He did and after experience His goodness and still choose to betray Him with a stubborn heart, He has no place for them in his presence. Hell is the absence of God’s presence. Lucifer and his angels were seperated permanently from the Lord. Hence, hell was created for Lucifer. In heaven, God regarded him and kept him as Lucifer, a great archangel, but when pride enters in, all he could get was “satan” as his title. He lost his glory and seperated from God’s goodness that he received through worship.
You might think, if it’s created for satan, then why are we even talk about hell in earth. It’s not actually created for humans!!
To answer this: Even though hell wasn’t created for humans, those who follow the fallen angel can still follow him to his place. Lucifer didn’t reach hell all by himself. He and his angels fell together. He once was a leader who leads angels in worship. His leadership still works to achieve his evil tactics aming humans. So whoever listens to him, are free to go along with him. Remember God has given us freewill.
One shouldn’t forget Jesus’s words : My sheep will follow me. Let us all follow Jesus and receive the eternal life. Let’s resist demonic tactics and temptations using the word of God and live a hily life to escape the hell which was created only for satan. Let’s not delierately go in the path of hell even after knowing the truth.
God bless you!
